If God alone is the perfect being, then why does the Bible talk about other perfect beings? (Gen 6:9; Job 1:1; Ezek 28:12, 15)

Descriptions of creatures as “perfect” should be taken as statements of relative integrity, motivation, and obedience, and are probably best understood as reflecting maturity, integrity, or even simple symmetry.

That God demands holiness of men is necessary to his holy and just nature (Matt 5:48; 1 Pet 1:15–16). This is not to say, however, that people are capable of such perfection. Though required of all, perfection is beyond the reach of all the non-glorified (1 John 1:8). And even in their glorified states, men’s holiness cannot be quantitatively or qualitatively that of God.
